Recipes

Icememory also has an archive of recipes, they generally fall into one of the following categories:

  • Family Specialities: having generally been handed down to me via my mother or aunt, or entirely invented by myself. These include how to make the perfect roast lamb, the now famous Raspberry Hazelnut Meringue, and what has at one time been called the 'chocoholocaust'.
  • Visiting Cooks: I like having people over to cook for me, it expands your food know-how to see someone else go to work, it usually results in something tasty, and it's a good excuse to sit down with a glass of wine. Visiting Cooks has both recipes I can cadge off people at the time, and those posted to IceMem by trusted foodie wizards.
  • Global Gourmet: During 2006 I helped to found the Global Gourmet dining club. The premise was simple. Each week, one of the four or five members would cook dishes solely from a country nominated by the other members. Although the nomination process devolved into attempting to stitch each other up from week to week (seriously, the Comoros islands?), all the food was astounding, and we never once had to resort to the back-up of takeout. A good chunk of the Global Gourmet recipes are up here, and the rest can be found over at livejournal.

As with the other archives, you can get every recipe posted to icemem here.
